I’m a rookie photographer trying to make something good out of a hobby and was wondering if there is a website that I could join where I can post and sell photos for free or very little cost.

Hmm. I know just the place to start out. You should make an account on www.deviantart.com. Upload/Submit some of your art and when you do it will ask you if you want to make it a print. It will give you lots of options and stuff on prices and sizes. Just pick what you want.
There are probably many other ways online, but this way works fairly well. And if you get yourself advertised on deviantart enough, maybe you can start doing commissions. You never know. And it’s completely free. =]

   I’ve actually had good luck with ebay. I don’t it much anymore, though, since they jacked up their fees. Catch ‘em on their specials, and you might do alright.

   there are quite a few sites where it doesn’t cost anything to sell your pics

   they only pay you around 30 cents for each sale but once you have a few hundred pics on their sites it does add up to quite a lot each month (from experience)

   Of course the photos have to be good quality and be accepted which is a slow process at first but once you are accepted it is much quicker after that

   My favorite is shown below but if you do a search in Yahoo for ‘photo stock site’ it will show you many many more
