  • How can I sell photos to a card or calendar company?

Posted by admin on February 19th, 2010 and filed under sell photos | 3 Comments »

I have some great photos that I think would be great for greeting cards or maybe a calendar, but I have no idea how I could go about selling them to companies. Any hints?

Get a hold of a book called Photographer’s Market 2007.

It’s a gold mine of info on just what you’re thinking of doing.

buy yourself the photographer’s marketing book of 2007 or wait for next years and in there you will find them that is asking for freelancing photographers.

Do you know how many people are out there with "some great photos?"

Most calendar companies that I know of buy from image banks. It’s a one stop buy with one contract. A lot easier than buying photos left and right with as many contracts as months in the year.

I don’t know about you but I haven’t bought a calendar in years and I still have half a dozen of them when the year starts. From various stores or fundraisers that I don’t support. Those are extremely cheap calendars done the cheapest way possible.

Sorry but you are not part of the cheapest way.
