  • How do I delete duplicate photos in my Windows Photo Gallery?

Posted by admin on February 21st, 2010 and filed under photos gallery | 2 Comments »

Recently I had a virus on my computer so I had to restore all of my photos which also resulted in creating duplicates. There are about 20 duplicates per photo and I don’t know any other way to delete them other than doing it one by one. Is there another easier way to delete my duplicates?
Thanks so much if you can answer this!

Go to the file or folder where all the pics are at. click on any one of them then press Ctrl and A at the same time. This will highlight every pic in the folder. Now, with your finger still pressed down on the Ctrl key, scroll through your pics and click on every one you want to keep. You see as you click on the individual pics with the Ctrl key still depressed, they become un-highlighted. After you have clicked on all the pics you want to keep, release the Ctrl key. Now go to one that is still highlighted and right click on it. A drop-down box will appear and then simply select "delete". Now all the duplicates are gone and only the ones you want to keep will remain visible. Problem Solved.
