When I make some minor changes to a photo in windows live photo gallery and then save the changes, the file size is dramatlcally reduced. The file size is about 25% of its original file size, eg a photo of 2M is saved at about 400K. I am concerned that I may be losing details in the photos. Would I be losing details and resolution? Thanks

I don’t think you will lose some details. It’s just Windows Photo Galery will save in compressed file so the file size becomes smaller
