  • where can I sell my photos for free online?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2009 and filed under sell photos | 4 Comments »

I’m a rookie photographer trying to make something good out of a hobby and was wondering if there is a website that I could join where I can post and sell photos for free or very little cost.
    THANKS!

Hmm. I know just the place to start out. You should make an account on www.deviantart.com. Upload/Submit some of your art and when you do it will ask you if you want to make it a print. It will give you lots of options and stuff on prices and sizes. Just pick what you want.
There are probably many other ways online, but this way works fairly well. And if you get yourself advertised on deviantart enough, maybe you can start doing commissions. You never know. And it’s completely free. =]

    I hope this helps.
    Good luck! =]

What is the name of the USAF Chief’s cap with upturned peak?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2009 and filed under belle photos | 3 Comments »

I’m trying to identify and find a usaf type cap with the upturned peak and have no idea what they are called. I think they are USAF Crew Chief type caps and I’ve seen them in many old photos (we have a 1943 T6 Texan) and in the movies (Memphis Belle and Pearl Harbor come to mind).
Any help would be much appreciated.

I believe you are talking about "Garrison Caps" aka "Bus driver caps".
They were worn primarily by officer bomber crewman.
Or you might be referring to baseball caps, worn by enlisted aircrew (and a few officers).

Do you any websites that allow you to do fun stuff with celebrity photos?

Like what I mean is you know those photos of celebrities with a thinking bubble saying "I love ____", where you could custom make it and put your name?

    Thanks in advance!

I think Photoshop allows you to do that, but entirely sure but you can give it a try.. look for the Free Trials.

where can i obtain free copyright and royalty free photos of weddings for a website i`m building?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2009 and filed under royalty free photos | 4 Comments »

i`m after somewhere that i can get royalty free / copyright free photos of weddings – married couples etc. for a simple website i`m building

Don’t be so tight, just type in ‘Wedding’ at istockphoto or shutterstock etc, and get some great images for a very cheap price that will suit your site to your taste.

At least you know that you will have permission to use the photos and you will only have to pay a few £ for the trouble.

How do I transfer photos from iPhoto to Vista (Windows Photo Gallery)?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2009 and filed under photos gallery | 2 Comments »

I have a Mac running iPhoto and would like to either transfer (or sync, but I doubt that is possible) the photos I have on iPhoto to a new computer running Vista. What is the best way to do this?

Burn your photos to a CD/DVD and insert it into your Vista box’s DVD drive. Then just copy them off using Windows Explorer.

Anyone know of a PHP Photo Gallery that has a purchase and download feature?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2009 and filed under photo gallery | 1 Comment »

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew about a PHP Photo Gallery that has a purchase and download feature. I am interested in taking pictures of wildlife and nature and I wanted for people to be able to visit my photo gallery and purchase my high resolution photos. So, I need a PHP Photo Gallery that allows me to do that. Thanks.

The purchase or payment gateway is separate as that needs to be performed on a secure server which you have to paid extra for.

What is the best way to organize online photos in order?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2009 and filed under photos | 1 Comment »

Should I organize each photo based on when photo was taken, or who is in the photo, or why the photo was taken (example: Kevin’s wedding) My photos are in such disarray and I have no idea how to organize them effectively. I have about 2,000 and it seems totally out of hand now. How do you do it?

Like you, I don’t have a good system yet. I keep them in order that I shot them because that’s the order I back the up to DVD. Like you, I sometimes have trouble finding certain old pictures. Someone really asked for one of my pictures that’s a few years old and I had to tell them they’re out of luck. What would really be nice if the pictures were actually in a huge database so you could just do searches and filters based on metadata. I don’t know how easy or affordable that would be in practice.

Where can I get free bundles of stock photos?

I want a bunch of photos just to play around with on photoshop, I’m learning. Without going through the lists in the free stock websites, one by one, where can I find a fat bundle of random or semirandom pics?
    Thanks!

I’m in the same boat and found -

Where to find copyright free photos of elderly?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2009 and filed under free photos | 4 Comments »

I’m urgently looking for copyright free photos of elderly smiling happily to the camera. Preferably an asian, more than 60 years old and close-up photo showing upper body.
    Any websites?

    Look on Morguefile.com
Here you will find ROYALTY Free pics. Not COPYRIGHT Free ones.
You will be able to use the pics as long as they are not ’stand alone’ use. In other words if they are part of an article etc that is OK. If they are used solely as pictures for sale, not OK.
If they are intended as an advertising pic you might need to get a model release but for ordinary use you should not want one.
